We're excited you're considering Tanner's Canine Resort! Before scheduling your Meet & Greet, please review the Enrollment Requirements and FAQs.
The Meet & Greet is a 30-minute appointment where you'll meet with our owner, Tracey, while your dog spends time with one of our trained team members. During your visit, we'll get to know you and your dog, answer any questions you may have, and give you a tour of our facility. This is also our first opportunity to observe your dog's temperament and comfort level in a new environment. If Tanner's is the right fit for you and your dog, we'll schedule their three Evaluation Days.
Meet & Greet appointments are available Monday through Friday at 11:00 AM or 2:30 PM. Select afternoon and weekend appointments may also be available upon request.
After a Meet & Greet has been completed, your dog may be invited back for three Evaluation Days, these reservations are only scheduled with a Tanner's Team member.
Evaluation Day 1 is for introductions. During this 3-hour session, a senior staff member will work with your dog to help them become comfortable with our environment, staff, and playgroups. Your dog will begin in a separate yard and be introduced one at a time to dogs of similar size and temperament before gradually joining larger groups. Your pup will also be evaluated during a scheduled rest period.
Evaluation Days 2 and 3 are 5-hour visits that allow your dog to become familiar with our daily routine and give our team additional time to assess their comfort in the daycare environment.
Dogs must successfully complete all three Evaluation Days before participating in daycare, boarding, training, or spa services.

Social Temperament
Tanner's is a social daycare and boarding facility. Dogs must be comfortable interacting with other dogs and able to safely participate in appropriately matched playgroups. We are unable to accept dogs that cannot socialize comfortably with other dogs.
Crate Comfort
All dogs take scheduled rest breaks throughout the day in crates (or private suites if boarding). These rest periods help prevent overstimulation and reduce health risks after meals. Dogs must be comfortable resting quietly during these breaks.
Spay & Neuter Policy
Dogs over one year of age must be spayed or neutered to participate in group play.
Puppies under one year of age may attend unaltered, but must be spayed or neutered before returning after their first birthday.
Age Requirement
Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old and current on all age-appropriate vaccinations before attending Tanner's.
Weight Requirement
Dogs must weigh a minimum of 8 pounds to attend Tanner's.
Puppies expected to exceed 8 pounds may complete a Meet & Greet, but cannot begin Evaluation Days until they reach the minimum weight requirement.
Senior Dogs
If your dog is 12 years of age or older, please contact our office to discuss whether Tanner's is the right fit.
Existing clients are re-evaluated upon turning 12 years old to ensure participation remains appropriate for their health, comfort, and safety.
Boarding Requirement
All new Boarding clients must complete at least one full day of Daycare before their first Boarding stay. We CANNOT accept any last minute boarding requests for new clients.

It is required that your dog be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines. We will need to have their proof of vaccination on file before they attend Tanner's for any service. Please ensure that the Vaccine Certification includes the due date for each vaccine. We cannot accept Vet invoices that do not show the expiration date of the vaccines.
Yes. All dogs must complete all 3 Evaluation days before they are accepted to join play at Tanner's. During their first day, dogs will play in a separate, smaller yard with one or two dogs at a time in order to get them adjusted to the pack environment. When they seem comfortable meeting all the dogs, we will slowly move them into the appropriate play yard. During the second and third days, dogs will join daycare for 5 hours each day in order to completely acclimate to the routine. Minor signs of anxiety or overstimulation are to be expected, but if your dog shows extreme signs of anxiety/fear, aggression or cannot be handled by our staff, they will not be accepted & you will be unable to book services. If your dog has bitten a person or another dog, then Tanner's is not the place for you. Dogs must be able to be handled by our staff, and play nicely with the other dogs in our yard. All dogs in our care must be suited to group play. We cannot accommodate dogs who require fully private daycare or boarding, although private training and individual add-on services may be available to enrolled clients.
If your dog has not visited Tanner's in over 3 months for boarding or over 6 months for daycare, a reevaluation session is required before booking services again. Additional Evaluation Days will only be scheduled if our team determines they are needed.
It is required that all dogs at Tanner's are comfortable in a crate. Throughout the day, all dogs are given rest breaks in order to prevent overstimulation and to prevent health risks after feeding. Dogs joining for Daycare take their breaks in appropriate sized crates, while dogs staying for Boarding take breaks in their suites. Your dog's comfort level in a crate will be assessed during their Evaluations. Any dogs that show extreme signs of distress while confined will not be a good fit to join Tanner's.
Last minute Boarding requests cannot be accommodated for new clients. All new dogs are required to complete a Meet & Greet, 3 days of Evaluation, and one full day of Daycare prior to their first Boarding stay to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition.
Existing clients may be accommodated for last minute Boarding requests if space allows. Please call our office to check availability. Please note that Tanner’s fills up quickly during peak periods, so we strongly recommend planning ahead whenever possible. You can view peak dates on the Cancellation tab.
Dog owners are required to bring your dog's leash and food on check in day. Please pre-package food in individual ziplock bags per meal, each labeled with your dog's name. If all bags are the same, do not write the day/time on them. If you do not pack each meal individually, you will be charged a $15 convenience fee. Aside from a leash and food, nothing else is required, however feel free to bring a favorite bed, blanket, snacks and/or toys if you wish. If you forget your food or run out while your dog is boarding, we will purchase for you, and charge you for the price of the food plus a convenience fee. You may also purchase our House Food ($5/meal). Please do not bring food or water bowls. We have plenty, including slow feeder bowls. Please also do not bring any balls to keep in your dog's suite as they are choking hazards.
When there is heavy rain, snow, extreme cold or heat, we move the dogs to indoor play after shorter potty breaks outside. We have plenty of temperature controlled indoor space for the dogs to play.
In the event of extreme weather, the facility may close for the day, open up to 2 hours late or close up to 2 hours early. Owners with reservations on that day will be contacted with updates. Dogs staying with us for Boarding will continue to receive full care by our on-site staff.
Yes! All areas of the indoor & outdoor spaces are under constant surveillance. This footage is required in order to monitor all dogs and staff throughout the day. Our cameras are not available for public viewing. If dog parents wish to see their pups while in our care, we are happy to send videos. We will always send you photos of your dog every day of their boarding stay.
Daycare: Dogs may be dropped off and picked up anytime between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Boarding: Drop-off is between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the day of arrival, and pickup is between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on the day of departure. A $40 early check-in fee applies to arrivals before 2:00 PM, and a $40 late checkout fee applies to pickups after 12:00 PM.
Please note that check-ins and pickups are unavailable daily from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Tanner's is closed for rest & reset.
Our facility closes promptly at 7:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 PM on weekends. If you are unable to arrive before closing, your dog will remain with us for overnight boarding. Applicable boarding and house-food charges will be added.
Dogs under one year of age may attend Tanner’s while unaltered. Once a dog reaches one year, they must be spayed or neutered to continue attending.
We are unable to accommodate unaltered dogs over one year old.
Every dog adjusts differently to a new environment. If your dog appears overly stressed, is unable to settle, or is not comfortable participating, we may shorten the visit and contact you for early pickup. Our team will review what we observed and discuss the most appropriate next step, which may include another Evaluation Day, a more gradual introduction plan, training support, or a different service that better suits your dog’s needs.
For the safety and well-being of all dogs and staff, Tanner’s reserves the right to remove or dismiss any dog from daycare at any time if they display behaviors that are unsafe, excessively anxious, difficult to manage, or disruptive to the group environment.
Dogs who have exceeded our 12 year age limit will be re-evaluated and may no longer be able to continue with our services if participation is no longer appropriate for their health, comfort, or safety.
Decisions are made at the sole discretion of our trained staff and are based on what is in the best interest of the individual dog and the daycare group as a whole. In some cases, we may recommend additional training, modified care, or alternative services before a dog may return to daycare.
