A little bit about us...
Tanner's Canine Resort in Waldwick, NJ opened in June 2020, & was designed exclusively with your dog's safety & care in mind. The owners, Suzanne & Tracey, set out to create a facility with more outdoor space than indoor space for dogs to run & play. The entire property is ideally suited for the comfort, safety and enjoyment of your four-legged family members. Here's what makes us unique:
- Not a Franchise! And nothing associated with franchises! Just individual custom care.
- 8000+ sq ft yard covered in K9 grass astroturf for dogs to run, play, fetch & exercise.
- K9 grass means no ticks, fleas, digging, mud or puddles when it rains.
- Lots of shade & fresh water in our yard.
- Staff on property 24/7 -- yes we are here overnight!
- Vet Center located immediately next door
- Powerful air filtration, circulation and ventilation system in kennel; less germs for your pup

Keep in mind.....
- All dogs at Tanners must be able to play well with other dogs, either in the kennel or in the yard, within appropriate sized playgroups. We do not take dogs that cannot socialize with other dogs.
- If you have a senior dog (12+ years old), please call and speak to an owner about whether or not Tanners is the right place for your dog.
- In order to come to Tanners, all dogs must be a minimum of 10 pounds. Puppies under 10 pounds that will grow past 10 pounds are welcome to come for the Meet & Greet, but cannot come for their first trial until they reach our minimum weight.
Meet our Owners
Suzanne Freedman (pictured left) and Tracey Manne (right) are friends and now business partners. They created a boarding, daycare and training facility in Bergen County, NJ from the ground up, that has everything dogs and dog owners are looking for. Clean, comfortable dog suites, more outdoor space than indoor, large play yards covered in astroturf, small play groups, well trained staff, agility and play equipment.
Tracey Manne has dedicated her life to caring for dogs. She is a certified dog trainer, raises service dogs for the Morristown Seeing Eye Program, has run successful dog walking and boarding businesses and has worked in a vet office . Tracey manages all aspects of Tanner's canine experience, training and kennel management program.
Suzanne Freedman has an extensive business and marketing background. She has managed multimillion dollar marketing budgets for large consumer brands for 25+ years, and is now leveraging her business experience at Tanner's Canine Resort. Along with her staff, Suzanne manages sales, marketing, finance, client relations and all aspects of the running the business.

Meet Tanner! Tanner was a beautiful Golden Retriever owned by Tracey Manne, who sadly passed away in 2012 from lymphoma. At that point, Tracey decided to walk away from corporate life & dedicate her career to the loving care and safety of dogs. It's only appropriate that our first facility is named for this beautiful inspirational creature. God bless you Tanner! Gone but never forgotten!
Welcome to Tanners!
Tanner's currently has availability in our kennel for boarding over Thanksgiving. Keep in mind we have a 4 night minimum at that time.
We are currently booked for boarding for Christmas/New Years, but we have a waitlist and people do cancel. If you request boarding on our portal, you will automatically be put on our waitlist.
We are also accepting New Clients for daycare, boarding and training. Request your Meet & Greet appointment by following the instructions under the MAKE A RES tab.
